Over the past few years I’ve observed the various responses to the economic downturn and I’ve observed two types of people. You can find those who, although they financially struggle, choose to let their pride earn and their bank-account lose. They won’t take certain careers feeling as if it might be beneath them or dread what others may think of them, perhaps believing that they might be judged or become humiliated by those they know.
On the flip part I feel lucky to have observed several wonderful accounts of so many others who had been blindsided by employment loss, medical bills or other reasons and made a decision to do something. They set satisfaction apart and vowed to do ‘whatever it will take’. Those will be the people I respect and applaud truly.

One of these people is my very own mother. My parents separated once i was four and even though they later returned together while i was nine years of age, for five years my mom set an important and inspiring example. Today I find myself in an identical situation as a business owner.
An interesting exchange took place last year after i shared with a fresh acquaintance who at that time was unemployed, that Target was still employing. She responded with, “I don’t think that’s for me. I can make more on unemployment”. Nearly a year And so she did for. I had been shocked and a bit saddened by her response.
I didn’t brain that she wasn’t thinking about the opportunities there, rather it was her attitude. It’s funny, more than a season later I find myself struggling to relate to her and the way she approaches life because. I still see her every once in awhile but I really believe it’s important to be mindful of who we surround ourselves with as it contributes to our very own mindset and success. I prefer positive people that have goals and aren’t afraid to work to them, after all some opportunities just provide a purpose for a season, rather than a life-long objective.
When most people look at celebrities, especially actors and actresses, they often see their current career triumphs, wealth, gorgeous clothing, a beautiful home and far of what they are able today sometimes wishing they could like a real life that. A very important factor I’ve always enjoyed is biographies which document the journey of what got each successful business person or ‘superstar’ to where they may be today.
One of my favorite books is titled ‘Unstoppable: 45 Powerful Stories of Perseverance and Triumph from People EXACTLY LIKE You’ which is filled up with courageous and inspiring accounts. It’ll offer you hope, confidence and a supplementary boost to defy the odds and get what you would like out of life, I recommend it highly, it’s a publication you can keep for a long time and read over and over again! Now I’d love to hear YOUR inspiring tales! What options and sacrifices do you make in order to access where you are today, support your family or even to have something you had always imagined?
I declare that this is true and appropriate. 78 FR 78608, Dec. 26, 2013, as amended at 79 FR 75888, Dec. 19, 2014; 80 FR 54409, Sept. 1.
